About Jenifer
Jenifer Canter brings the experience, certification, and community roots this office requires.

With more than 18 years in property valuation, lending, and real estate, she has served both inside the Assessor-Recorder’s Office and in the private sector. She understands the technical side of the job and the real-world impact it has on families, businesses, and property owners.
​
Jenifer was certified by the State Board of Equalization with an Advanced Appraiser's Certificate for property tax purposes while employed by the Mariposa County Assessors Office in 2021. This is the highest certification available, which will be automatically reinstated once elected. This certification is not just an achievement but a key credential for meeting state legal requirements and serves as evidence that she has already met the rigorous testing and experience requirements, ensuring she is fully qualified to serve from day one.

A Bootjack native and Mariposa County High School graduate, Jenifer and her husband returned home in 2008 to raise their family and continue serving the community.
​
She believes the Assessor-Recorder’s Office exists to serve taxpayers with clarity, fairness, and respect for private property rights.
